Hello friends! Welcome to our new warehouse. Let me tell you how we got here:It's early May, I am tidying up the shelves, chucking out old things we don't need and fighting for my life on Facebook Marketplace to try sell a few bits and pieces. Soon we would be packing up everything and hauling it across town.

Mid May rolls around, things are getting serious now, stock levels are low in preparation of having to shift. Stock takes are done. Toni, Gemma and I head out to our new spot to meet the team we will be sharing the space with. We're shifting in with another NZ/AUS business: Rubber Monkey. Toni is married to the Chief Tech Officer so we've got our ins.

Rubber Monkey are a tech company that was started back in 2010, they have an online store and a rentals service for all your professional video, audio, photographic, and creative technology needs. They're all about supporting creatives and pros in the industry. The team at the Mt Cook office are all really lovely and we're very lucky to be sharing the space with them!

Okay here we go!

May 28th 2025, our last day in the School Road warehouse, we'd been in Kaiwharawhara for 5 years so this was a pretty big deal. I sped through packing your orders while Toni went and sorted out a van. Gemma started on taking everything off the shelves.

This was the start of a long and hard weekend. We had the Wednesday to take everything off the racking because it was going to be taken apart and moved by the racking guys. We used Sistema containers, cardboard boxes, random parts bins and anything else that would hold stock to move every last item off the shelves.

With only a couple of casualties, things were going well. I packed up boxes while Toni and Gemma drove to Mt Cook to unload the stock and then come back and repeat the process.

Toni and Phil and even their kids came in to work hard later into the evening to make sure everything was ready for the racking guys to take apart the shelves

Lucky for Gemma and I, we got to have the Thursday Friday off work while the racking guys did their bit. We did then have to go into work on Saturday to put everything BACK on the shelves, help move the packing desks into their spots and tidy like mad to get things ready for Tuesday (Monday was Matariki).

Things were heavy, we were knackered, the Newtown Pizza Hut was calling my name for lunch. Again Toni and Phil worked through the weekend and later into the nights to get this all done.

Tuesday was the first day back to somewhat normal. The warehouse was a bit of a battlefield, things were everywhere, stock was mixed up and put on shelves kinda randomly. But we got through the orders from the long weekend as a team.

Over the next few weeks, when I had spare time, I was organizing and tidying up the area. Making sure everything had its home and wasn't damaged. Surprisingly there was only a couple of items that were damaged in the move. We're just that good.

 

Now we are settled in and loving it. The warehouse is warmer and easier to keep clean, there are other people to see and chat with and MUCH better places to get lunch from.

We're open the same hours for Click & Collect orders. From Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, so if you're in dire need of your beauty fave you can pop in and grab it pretty much straight away. (I'm pretty speedy) As long as it is in stock with us!

Being in Mt Cook/Newtown we're much closer to town so you don't have to make a trip out to the industrial area to grab your lash glue.

Another plus, Uber Delivery orders around town are a bit cheaper.
