Recipe: Collagen Rice Krispie Treats
If you want to know one thing about the BB team, it's that we LOVE a good snack. So Hannah and I have whipped up a treat for us all with the added perk of Puraz RAW Collagen powder!
Before we jump into the recipe lets learn a wee bit about collagen.

The collagen we are using in this recipe is the Puraz Raw Collagen Powder.

  • Collagen is a natural structural protein that represents almost 30% of the total body protein of mammals!
  • It is found throughout the body – in skin, muscle, tendon and bone.
  • Fibres of collagen are woven together like threads in fabric to form a framework where new cells can grow.
  • In the skin, collagen provides texture, resiliency, and shape.

From the age of 25, your body depletes collagen at 1.5% every year! For instance by the time you reach 45, you will have lost 30% of your body’s collagen. Taking 100% Collagen Infusion helps to make up for this loss.

Lets make it!

In the Beauty Bliss warehouse we have a kitchenette upstairs so these Rice Krispie Collagen Treats are made with only a microwave and the fridge.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 4 Cups of a rice puff cereal
  • 1/4 Cup of a nut butter - we used peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp of honey and/or maple syrup - we used honey
  • Two scoops of Puraz Raw Collagen Powder
  • Optional: Choccy chips
  • Baking tin/container/muffin cases to put the mix into - we used muffin cases (Note: We accidently added butter to this recipe - it's up to you if you add this too but either way it'll be yum.)

For these treats we used two scoops of the collagen powder as it was quite a lot of mixture.

Method:

Step 1: To a microwave safe bowl add the peanut butter, coconut oil and honey. Melt these together in the microwave and then let cool slightly.

Step 2: Add the Raw Collagen Powder to the rice puff cereal and mix.

Step 3: Add the wet mix to the rice puff and collagen bowl. You can add the chocolate chips here if you're adding those in. Mix it all together, it will look a bit wet but remember this is going to firm up in the fridge.

Step 4: Pop the mixture into your container of choice and put them in the fridge/freezer.

Step 5: Once firm, take out of the fridge and enjoy!
